Trump Expresses Discontent with Mexico and Canada, Reiterates Concerns Over Chinese Fentanyl Shipments

Washington, D.C. – During the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) near the U.S. capital, former President Donald Trump declared, “I am not happy with Mexico or Canada.”
In his nearly ninety-minute speech, Trump recalled imposing 10% tariffs on all products from China, stating, “They are also sending fentanyl to our country through Mexico. I am not happy with Mexico or Canada.”
He also mentioned placing 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports and promised to introduce reciprocal tariffs on any country that imposes trade duties on the United States. “We will match our tariffs with theirs,” he affirmed.
In recent days, Trump had credited Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum for her ideas on the anti-drug campaign in Mexico. Despite his criticism of Mexico, he acknowledged her efforts in tackling drug-related issues.
During his CPAC speech, Trump also announced, “This week, I have officially designated cartels and gangs as international criminal organizations, something neither Biden nor anyone else wanted to do.”
He emphasized that the full power of the federal government is now focused on eradicating criminal groups like MS-13 and Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan gang. “The only good thing about them is that they make our criminals look like good people,” he remarked.
“We are hunting down MS-13 members and removing them from our land like the savages they are,” he concluded.
