The Modelo Integral de Aguas de Aguascalientes (MIAA) has announced that it will be installing 4,300 smart meters in businesses and homes as part of its ongoing pilot project. This initiative will allow for daily monitoring of water consumption and early detection of leaks.

According to MIAA’s general director, Jesús Vallín, the installation of these advanced devices will begin in some neighborhoods in the north of the city. The project will be carried out intensively during the first half of the year.

Vallín explained that these high-tech meters will give users greater control over their daily consumption and allow them to detect any leaks within their homes so that they can be repaired immediately, thus avoiding water waste.

This initiative also demonstrates MIAA’s commitment to caring for this natural resource and the environment. Once the project is consolidated, bills will be digital, and paper printing will be discontinued.

Finally, Jesús Vallín reminded Aguascalientes families that these new projects will not entail any cost for them, since their installation is and will be free. Only new contracts will have the corresponding placement cost.
