Aguascalientes Modernizes Vehicle Control with Digital Circulation Card

Starting in 2025, residents of Aguascalientes can access their vehicle circulation card in digital format, a measure designed to modernize and streamline vehicle-related processes in the state. This initiative complies with Article 5, Section II of the State Vehicle Registry Regulations, as announced by local authorities.

Ramiro Pedroza Márquez, Secretary of Innovation and Digital Government, highlighted the benefits of the new digital format, including its accessibility via mobile devices, eliminating the need for a physical card. “It’s a very simple process. You only need to access the Aguascalientes Digital app, select ‘Activate Circulation Card,’ and enter the license plate number along with the last four digits of the vehicle’s serial number,” Pedroza Márquez explained. He also noted that the app does not consume mobile data, enabling use even without a data balance.

While the digital card is now available, the physical document for 2024 will remain valid as long as the 2025 payment is completed. The validity of the physical document can be confirmed by scanning the QR code printed on it.

Alfredo Cervantes, head of the State Finance Secretariat (SEFI), assured that the digital card is recognized by all authorities within the state. He also reminded citizens that vehicle control payments can be made entirely online via various platforms, including the State Government’s official website, the BotGigante virtual assistant, the Aguascalientes Digital app, and the Service and Support Centers (CAS).

As an added incentive, the government announced discounts on vehicle control payments during the first three months of the year: 10% for general payments and an additional 2% for payments made electronically.

With this measure, Aguascalientes positions itself as a pioneer in digitizing vehicle processes, offering residents a practical, accessible alternative while promoting the use of digital technologies in public administration.
