Mexico Announces New Appointments to Foreign Representations
The Secretariat of Foreign Affairs (SRE) announced today the appointment of four new representatives—two women and two men—to serve in Mexico’s international representations. These appointees will assume their roles in **Jordan**, **Miami**, **New Orleans**, and **Calexico**, tasked with safeguarding Mexico’s rights and interests, as well as ensuring the protection and assistance of Mexican nationals abroad. Their work will adhere to the principles outlined in Mexico’s Foreign Policy, as enshrined in the Political Constitution of the United Mexican States.
The newly appointed officials are:
– Jacob Prado González, Ambassador of the Mexican Foreign Service, to the Embassy of Mexico in Jordan.
– Rutilio Escandón Cadenas, former Governor of Chiapas, to the Consulate General in Miami, Florida.
– María Noemí Hernández Téllez, Minister of the Mexican Foreign Service, to the Consulate in New Orleans, Louisiana.
– María del Rocío Vázquez Álvarez, Counselor of the Mexican Foreign Service, to the Consulate in Calexico, California.
The presidential appointments for both ambassador and consul general positions have been submitted to the Senate of the Republic for ratification.
These appointments reflect Mexico’s commitment to strengthening its presence abroad and to ensuring the well-being of its citizens through dedicated and experienced leadership.
