Members of the “Ángeles con Patitas” Association gathered to demand justice for “Coco,” a dog who was shot in the head last Sunday in the Real Hacienda neighborhood of this city. The protestors condemned the alleged attack by a neighbor, who was reportedly captured on surveillance cameras. Around 40 people, including activists and local residents, gathered on Tuesday night at the intersection of Circuito Hacienda Huaxtla and Hacienda La Venta del Astillero.

The demonstration, led by Priscila Alvarado, head of the organization, highlighted the severity of Coco’s injuries. The dog was shot while walking on the street and is currently in critical condition. Coco’s owner has filed a formal complaint with the State Attorney General’s Office, seeking accountability for the harm caused to the animal. Activists also organized a protest outside the Attorney General’s office, calling for justice and urging that the incident not go unpunished.

The protestors remained for nearly two hours, during which State Police officers were present as a preventive measure.
